bULLS (3)Pamplona is a very cool place to start the Camino de Santiago. The town famous for its Bull Run festival, the San Fermin, described by Ernest Hemingway.

But if you want to make more kilometers and start the French way at the well know small town of Saint Jean Pied de Port, in the French Pyrenees you should catch one one the three daily buses which connect Pamplona with Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port . It leaves Pamplona from the main bus station and arrives to the bus small station in St. Jean downtown. Cost €15.

Beginning at the beautiful town of San Sebastian is another possibility. You will travel through the lush and mountainous landscape of the Basque coast & pass historic Gernika.
