When you enter to Cafe Casino you might believe that the Cafe is decorated like an old casino. But actually it is the old Casino (1873) of the city. With the decreasing amount of members it had to open its doors to the public. Definitely, it is a place not to miss. Take a seat on the terrace, in the middle of Rua do Vilar, 35, or in one of its old chairs inside, either way you’ll have a good time. It’s not very popular among smokers, for the place intended for smoker they have an old “room of punishment”.
The coffee in Cafe Casino is a coffee filled with over 100 years of history behind it and steeped in tradition. By location was traditionally frequented by students from the University of Santiago, in fact Lugín Perez’s book “The House of Troy”, focused part of history in this coffee-at dances in the nineteenth students. It is decorated with care, seems to be the same as in those times.
Its high ceilings with ornamental lamps, the warmth of wood and the comfort of the sofa makes it an ideal place to relax and have a coffee in the wide variety they have. Our Spanish particular recommendation: chocolate with churros. Try them and tell us your opinion!
