Our pilgrim friend, E.S. is in the Camino since the beginning of April and she will be in the Catheral of Santiago tomorrow by the end of the day.
Hill of Joy
Before ending her walk, she will pause for a few minutes from the famous viewing point “Monte del Gozo”. It is a small hill, 4 km away from Santiago. Being there is a very spiritual moment, full of feelings and emotions.
Monte del Gozo is known for being the place where pilgrims get their first views of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, their final destination for most of them.
She will stay in Santiago until Sunday to attend mass in the Cathedral and from there to Madrid and to Andalucia.
Going South after the walk
Her itinerary through the south of Spain includes visiting the Arabic/Jewish city of Cordoba, worldwide famous for the Mosque/Cathedral and the Jewish quarter. The second stop is at the monumental city of Sevilla. She will walk around the typical barrio de Santa Cruz with its narrow streets, the Maria Luisa Park and the Plaza de España. Granada will be one of the last stop in the journey. Alambra palace tour is also included in her trip. And the last stay but not the least will be the imperial city of Toledo. Town full of monuments and history because of the historical co-existence of Christian, Muslim and Jewish cultures.
After go all over España / Spain, she will be back to Canada. We are looking forward to hearing about her!!!
