The Camino bring you the opportunity to discover Spain in a different way. The north of Spain is unique, full of gastronomic experiences, local culture and sights.
Spain is famous for the Sun and the beaches, the siesta and the fiesta, Naps and parties. But there is much more under this dream holidays. Today we want to open a section about the la wealth of the red gold, the wine. We have previous articles about wine tasting along The Camino but today we recommend you to discover La Rioja, Land of wine.
Spend one day tour in la Rioja. From Santo Dominigo de la Calzada to Haro, Laguarcia, Elciego and visited spectacular wineries with a lot of chamber and character. You will taste wine at the Marques de Riscal Winery. It is located in the heart of Elciego village and designed by the California-Canadian architect Frank O. Gehry, creator of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the building has spectacular views of vineyards. Other unforgettable place in La Rioja is Bodegas Ysios, conceived as a temple dedicated to wine and inaugurated in 2001, has rapidly become the pioneering “signature winery” in La Rioja, setting the trend for the construction of a steady progression of avant-garde wineries, a trend which still continues today.
