Last October an unknown Canadian couple arrived to Santiago after hiking more than 775 km from France. They started their walk on the 9th of September and they arrived to the Santiago pilgrim office on the 13th of October. The man, Stephen Wood, was the pilgrim number 200.000. It is a significant number for a non-holly year.
On 2013, more than 209.320 pilgrims arrived to the Galician city coming from all over the world. Spanish pilgrims are still the biggest amount but more and more English speaker peregrinos start the Camino de Santiago. A lot of people from Canada know about the Camino and they start thinking about spend some time in Spain next year and walk the Camino.
