On the way to Santiago, before and during the way, the pilgrims hear over and over about the Parador de los Reyes Catolicos.

It is a 5 start luxury hotel with a huge pilgrim history. Everybody is welcome! It is located in front of the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral, at the Plaza del Obradoiro.

The biggest catholic pilgrim hospital

The construction of the present-day building was commissioned in 1501 by the Catholic Monarchs in order to take care of the sick and the pilgrims of the divine Xacobe, according to the Latin inscription along the façade’s upper frieze.  The old hospital was the largest and best equipped of the many along the Camino at the time. Most of the sick pilgrims didn’t want to stop in the previous hospitals because their aim was to achieve Santiago, whatever the case might be.

Check-out this video of the peaceful and quiet patios of the hotel.

The interior area of the house is structured according to a rectangular ground plan with four courtyards. The most artistic of these courtyards is the one on the left on entering; its most outstanding feature is the door leading to the former San Luis room.

From Creative Travel we want to recommend you to stay your last night in Santiago at this hotel.

They have pilgrim discounts. We promise you an unforgettable experience and a wonderful breakfast buffet, fit for kings.

If you are not able to rest in one of their royal rooms… don’t worry! You can visit the cafeteria and order a royal coffee / tea / hot chocolate. It is worth. It is like a museum.

Some of our customers have stayed in the hotel and their stays have been wonderful.
