Many pilgrims take advantage of the day to learn how to string and twist garlic. This is perhaps one of the main attractions of the day.

Castrojeriz is also a good stop for early walkers. Many good breakfast bars rise early. Try Bar Manzano before entering the village or further ahead, in the center of the town, pilgrims have the chance to get breakfast in bar El Lagar and Bar Oliva.

At lunchtime get into Meson de Castrojeriz, where pilgrims can try some of the specialties of the area, like garlic soup, black pudding and roast baby lamb.
